Meeting Prep Rooms are spatially-aware video chat and collaboration spaces powered by GroupRoom. They are perfect for working sessions leading up to a Webex meeting allowing you and your colleagues to get on the same page prior to a scheduled Webex meeting regardless if the meeting is in 15 minutes or a week from now.




GroupRooms support up to 50 people in video chats per space with many conversations and collaboration sessions happening at once. You simply move your video avatar around the space to speak with people near you (just like "in real life"). Collaboration tools include: embedded web pages, Google suite, YouTube videos (including live Webex videos!), screen shares, whiteboards, and private rooms.


Getting started is simple:

  1. Schedule your Webex meeting and copy meeting link
  2. Open list of group rooms and select the timer button in the room actions
  3. Paste the Webex meeting link into the URL of the popup box, adjust the meeting redirect time in GDT, and generate GroupRoom link


Share this new GroupRoom link with your colleagues and begin collaborating. Note: Everyone is redirected from GroupRoom to the Webex Meeting when the scheduled meeting starts!

You simply move your video avatar around the space to speak with people near you (just like "in real life"). Collaboration tools include: embedded web pages, Google suite, YouTube videos (including live Webex videos!), screen shares, whiteboards, and private rooms.


Getting started is simple:

  1. Open list of group rooms
  2. Create a room. Note: Administrators can upload a room image as well as set who has room announcement and collaboration permissions.
  3. Share your new Breakout Room link with your colleagues!
